The Sullivan Night Out took place Friday evening at the Sullivan City Park, a week after being postponed due to weather.
Citizens got treated to free food and give-a-ways by local organizations on top of interacting with policemen and firefighters.
But some may be unrecognizable to the public when not in uniform.
"They don't recognize us," said Jesse Morin, Sullivan City Police Chief. "They normally just see us in our uniform. There were a couple of people today from the Salvation Army who didn't recognize me in plain clothes when we were setting up the tent. It's fun."
This was the 31st year communities celebrated their night out.
More than 37 million people nationwide take part.
