Construction continues to increase around the city of Terre Haute, this time for sewage issues. The city discovered failing sewer lines on 7th street in between Wabash and Ohio.
This lead city engineers to shut down one block of 7th street and begin repairs.
Larry Ribbons, assistant city engineer, said that it is going to be an inconvenience, but the city is working hard to finish the job within a two-week window. The repairs sound short because of the time frame, but the workers may have issues working around a lot of utilities.
The city recommends that drivers use the surrounding streets such as 6th, 8th, and 9th streets to avoid congestion on 7th.
