Rose-Hulman is welcoming their most diverse new student class in school history.

With more than 500 new students arriving to campus, this is the second largest incoming class.

Rose-Hulman seeks students that reflect the characteristics of the world-class institution, and with 68 students out of the class of 2018 ranking in the top three of their high school class, these bright students are bound to make an impact on campus.

Rose-Hulman greeted students for freshman move-in this Friday, and officials are excited to get this new record-setting year rolling.

31 percent of the new freshman class is non-Caucasian and non-U.S. citizen.

Including a record 82 students being international.

Rose-Hulman staff members say they look forward to this day each year.

Jim Goecker, the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Strategic Communications said, "This is the best day of the year, this is where we get to see 582 young men and women that we've been recruiting overtime, finally arrive on campus and get them all set up and get them going to work here in about a week."

More welcoming events will continue through out the weekend, and classes begin for students Thursday, August 4th.

Some more impressive numbers from the class of 2018, a total of 55 new freshman received perfect SAT scores, and the median weighted high school GPA is a 3.98.
