There will be a public meeting this Thursday on proposed rule changes in Indiana for deer and wild turkey hunting.
They will determine whether to permanently approve a rule package that would allow hunters to electronically check-in deer and wild turkeys.
A representative with the NRC says most states already have the rule in place, and it could also help reduce fuel cost for hunters.
Other changes being proposed are...
Removing the handgun license requirement to comply with the Indiana state law.
Allow a person who buys a deer license bundle to have the option of using it to take three anterless deer.
Clarify the end date for the fall wild turkey firearm season.
Let someone call wild turkeys for another as long the person is properly licensed.
The meeting will be held at 5:30 this Thursday at the Plainfield Public Library.
A final vote is expected at the NRC's meeting on November 20th.
