NBC 2 closely followed voter turnout in this year's Primary Election.
In Vigo County, early voting numbers were way up this cycle.
Election officials there were hoping that would be the case for in-person voting on Election Day as well.

More than 4,000 people voted early in Vigo County this cycle.
Compare that to the last non-Presidential Primary back in 2010 When less than 2,000 people cast their ballots early.
Using that as an indication, turnout Tuesday should have exceeded the mark set that year.

Dozens stood in line today at Baesler's Market to vote.
It was one of 18 vote centers across the county.
In total, nearly 13,000 ballots were cast in Tuesday's election.
A number the vigo county clerk says he's happy with.

"I think the turnout was respectable, for an off-year election. I don't know what the exact totals where in 2010, but I do know that there contested sheriff's and prosecutor race," Dave Crockett, Vigo County Clerk said.

Back in 2010 more than 18,000 people voted in the Primary Election.
Meaning this year's turnout was down by about 5,000.
