A local organization and fast food restaurant joined forces for a big event this evening in Clinton.

They called it the McCruisin' for Cops and Kids.

McDonalds partnered with the Parke and Vermillion Cops and Kids program for the event.

A portion the event's sales will go to the programs to help with the events throughout the year.

The event was 1950's themed complete with an antique car show and the South Vermillion dance team.

Organizers think its just a great way to get the community involved.

Randy Kneeland, President of FOP says, "It has been outstanding. McDonald's has been a big help they're the ones that approached us about this and wanted to do this and he owners have put some money in to this to raise money for the communities and it's the communities that support our programs. If it wasn't for the donations we wouldn't be able to put on these programs."

The event lasted from six to nine.

WAXI radio was on hand to play some oldies for the event.
