NBC's American Ninja Warrior is now casting for season seven. The show has really picked up speed and one local man is up for the challenge.

After all, this guy faces a room full of sixth graders every day. So tackling a ninja obstacle course should be easy in comparison, right?!

We'll certainly find out in the months to come if Cory Beeson has what it takes. Right now he's training and he's been doing so for four years.

Beeson is like the more than six million other viewers of American Ninja Warrior.

Linton-Stockton Jr. High teacher Cory Beeson said, "I caught the fever like everyone else that has been watching it lately."

But he doesn't just want to watch from the couch. Beeson wants to be in the action. By day he's Mr. Beeson, 6th grade social studies teacher, all other hours of the day he's in training to be a ninja warrior.

He said, "Last year when I was going to be trying out for it, I didn't tell anybody about it because I didn't want them to know about it... because I didn't want them to get distracted by it in the classroom and be like oh, hey he's trying out for American Ninja Warrior."

But in a small town secrets aren't kept for long.

Beeson said, "First day of school, I had a girl... we were taking them on a tour of the school... I had a girl raise her hand. I said 'yeah, what do you need?' and she goes I hear you want to be a ninja."

His students believe in him, but he's going to need a lot more than that to be America's top ninja.
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, countless types of workouts.

Beeson said, "Oh boy... there's a lot. You really have to do a just about everything to be able to be able to train for American Ninja Warrior."
Beeson does a lot of ab movements, pull-ups, push-ups...

He said, "Then they're gonna throw something at you that you've never seen before and you have no preparation for."

Beeson watches the show and replicates movements in his workouts.

He said, "The ultimate goal is to win the show... i mean, that's what everybody wants. you want to be at the top of mount medoriamo when it's all over."

He will submit a video to NBC in hopes to be cast for American Ninja Warrior. This will actually be his third time applying.

The show normally airs on Monday nights, except tonight, the Emmy's are on. You can look for the show to return next week.
