Local Nun Reflects on Pope John Paul II Sainthood

Several people right here in the valley were interested in Sunday's canonization of Pope John Paul II and John Paul XXIII
Especially member of the Sisters of Providence Who have a special connection to one of the two popes honored this morning.

"John Paul II presided over the beatification of Saint Mother Theodore so we feel an affinity to him and an affection for him because of his words about her in the course of that service and the course of that ceremony," Sister Lisa Stallings said.

Saint Mother Theodore Guerin founded the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary of the Woods.
On October 15, 2006 Pope Benedict recognized her as a saint.
The sisters of providence are working on a permanent shrine for Saint Mother Theodore Guerin.
