At Linton-Stockton Elementary School the floors are squeaky clean, the classrooms are tidy and teachers are ready for kids to start on Wednesday. Tuesday evening they had an open houses for parents and students to meet their teachers and get acquainted.

If students have first-day jitters, teachers have them too. Kelsey Jones is a first-year teacher in Linton and she's anxious for the first day. Jones has spent her summer, and a good chunk of change, getting her room ready for the school year. Jones will teach social studies and on Wednesday she meets 125 new faces... talk about overwhelming.

Jones said she's ready for it, though. She's been looking over names of students in her classes and she said they'll spend most of the first couple of days getting to know each other. She hopes with this being her first day, it will help calm students nerves about beginning school.

Not all schools are required to provide after school care, but if parents need some extra help there are options throughout the Wabash Valley.
