An emergency closure is now in effect for a bridge in Knox County.
The Knox County board of commissioners issued an emergency closure of the bridge.
It's located over Kelso Creek on Washington Avenue in Vincennes.
The structure was deemed not fit to carry reasonable loads.
The closure begins at Niblack Boulevard and continues to Bell Crossing.
However,the road will be open to local traffic only
Repairs on the structure are set to begin soon.
The bridge should be repaired and back open to traffic in mid-to-late November.
Here's another important traffic note for you.
It's going to take a little more time to get from here to there in part of Clay County, Indiana next week.
INDOT is scheduled to close State Road 46 on Monday for a bridge replacement project.
The bridge is over Birch Creek which is just west of State Road 59.
The closure is expected to last for 75 days.
In the meantime, motorists should follow the posted detour signs.
Another road project set to begin this week will shut down a road in Vigo County until next summer.
Crews will close Margaret Avenue from Sycamore Terrace Drive to State Road 46.
It's for a road reconstruction project.
It'll close Tuesday and won't re-open until the summer of 2015.
