Job seekers came out to Collett Park today for opportunities to help the community.

The Terre Haute Parks and Cemeteries department hosted a job fair at the pavilion located in the park.

Open positions include hourly grass cutters, and maintenance helpers. Officials hope to hire 10 individuals to help with the up keep of the parks and cemeteries.

It's important for the departments to find help to get through the hot summer months.

Billy Hubbard, the Director of Safety and Operations for Terre Haute Parks and Cemeteries said, "Because the weather has finally gotten better, the grass has really decided to grow. So, it won't be long before we start to feel that we're behind. If we can hire those folks today, and get their paperwork processed, we can get them on board next week and keep up with the wonderful weather that we got."

Typically the seasonal jobs last just through the summer months.
