Dozens turned out today for a community health fair.
The event was sponsored by the senior nursing class at Indiana State University.
More than 20 exhibitors were on-hand.
Organizers say the event was all about encouraging a new wellness model.
"We as a country need to focus more on well-being and health promotions we're going away from the medical model of just treating the illness, instead we need to promote wellness," Terri Moore, one of the event organizers said.
Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett made a special guest-appearance at the health fair.
He even put his hula-hooping skills on display for those in attendance.
The event is part of the Mayor's new "52 Weeks of Fitness Initiative."
