ISU New Student Orientation is full speed ahead.

The program began on Monday and will continue through this month and into July. There are 16 two-day programs. Each of those programs could have up to 170 students.

Students are placed into small groups, giving them a chance to make new friends before school begins this fall.

Director of New Student Transition Programs Joe Thomas says about 98 percent of students who attend orientation will be enrolled at ISU in the fall.

He said orientation is an exciting time of year.

There are 17 student leaders who help in getting the orientation students accustomed to the campus.

Program Coordinator Tracy Osborne says so far, so good. She said that students seem to really enjoy time with their student leaders.
