People in Terre Haute weighed in on the Common Core debate Tuesday night.

Indiana withdrew from the Common Core earlier this year and was the first state to do so.

However, the debate is nationwide and a film at Showplace 12 brought the conversation to Terre Haute.

Showplace 12 was one of select theaters across the country showing Glenn Beck's "We Will Not Conform" on Tuesday night.

The interactive presentation focused on the Common Core and other education issues.

"I wanted to see what other states are being challenged with because we have tackled that at the state level already. We've fought it and if we can contribute in some way, I want to be here to help," says Sharon Jukes, a mother who attended the event.

Since Indiana withdrew from the Common Core, the state adopted new standards for math and english language arts.

Indiana created two new state tests aligned with the new standards.
