Indiana Has New Human Trafficking Law

Indiana has a new tougher law against those who engage in human trafficking.

That activity of importing young people into a community for the sex trade seems to grow around Super Bowl venues.

Governor Mitch Daniels signed the bill this morning making penalties more severe for traffickers.

It's not the same as prostitution in the past.Attorney General Greg Zoeller says, "So, we need to get past the days of just looking at prostitutes as criminals and look at them as either victims, if they're underage, which this bill addresses, or people who've been brought in at a very young age where they were victims and now they've lived a life this way, so, I think there has to be more focus, even past the Super Bowl."

Zoeller met with his counterparts in texas and florida to help draft and support the new law.
