Illinois Governor Pat Quinn announces millions of dollars for local transportation improvements across the state.

It's part of his Illinois Jobs Now construction program. The point of the program is to repair the state's infrastructure and fix potholes, while creating jobs.

The announcement includes about $6.2 million for local governments. Those include Clark, Coles, Crawford, Edgar, Effingham and Jasper Counties.

Local governments will be able to select their own projects with the Illinois Department of Transportation's oversight.

The counties will also get more than $35.7 in Motor Fuel Tax funds this year.
