Monday Indiana Governor Mike pence toured the storm damaged areas across the state.

He made stops Kokomo, Logansport, Lafayette, and Washington.

Congressman Larry Bucshon joined the Governor for his stop in Washington.

The two walked through some of the hardest hit areas in Daviess County.

They spoke with residents displaced from their home, offering up words of comfort.

"It's heartbreaking to come into a neighborhood like this and see the type of property damage we've seen but I couldn't be more grateful that there was no loss of life here in Washington, Indiana or across the Hoosier state." Governor Pence said.

"It's the volunteers and how the community steps up, how Hoosiers step up when people step to help their neighbors and I think that's a story that's great to see and great to hear," Rep. Bucshon said.

Governor Pence thanked those in Washington who stepped up and housed their displaced neighbors overnight.
He commended local emergency responders as well.
