Fire crews were called to the blaze on 5th Avenue near 14th Street around 8:00 Thursday evening. Officials believe the fire started near the center of the home, but they are still investigating how it started. Lead arson investigator, Norm Loudermilk, says the home owner boarded up the home following another fire last fall.
"What's odd about this fire is that it was still daylight out, middle of summer, people sitting on their porches, people milling around obviously doing yard work, kids riding down the street on tricycles and all of a sudden, flames are through the roof," Loudermilk said.
Loudermilk says he does not believe this fire is related to another string of arsons earlier this year.
