Experts say it's that time of the year again...when the fish are awake and biting.
But before you're quick to get out your bait and tackle like these folks, DNR officials say it's important to be aware of a few things.
First, they say the water is much cooler this year, so experts caution that falling into the water could pose a more serious threat.
Moreover, they want to make sure you have all your safety equipment on hand, and an updated fishing license.
"Fishing licenses expired March 31st, so if you had one from last year, it's expired now. We just want to remind everyone to renew them, so when we come around to check everyone is good to go and we have a good experience," said DNR officer Max Winchell
