Officials say you should set your thermostat to the highest comfortable setting. If you're leaving for the day, turn it up a couple of degrees.
Change your air filters regularly.
Make sure you have a contractor check your heating and air conditioning system.
Also, close blinds, drapes and shades during the hottest part of the day.
