Clay County Humane Society and Brazil Elks Lodge Hold 2nd Pets for Vets

The 2nd annual Pets for Vets is happening now.

The Clay County Humane Society has partnered with the Brazil Elks Lodge 762 to provide a forever home for pets with local veterans.

A two thousand dollar grant has been provided by the Elks Lodge to help pay for adoptions by veterans. Veterans are offered a reduced rate, and the Elks Lodge covers the rest.

  • Dogs over 20 lbs, older than six months: Regular fee- $100 Veterans- $25.
  • Small dog, less than 20 lbs, six months: Regular fee- $150 Veterans- $50.
  • Puppies, less than six months: Regular fee- $200 Veterans- $75.
  • Cats, any ago, any size: Regular fee- $50 Veterans- $25.

The offer goes until the $2,000 grant has been spent.

Veterans are asked to bring proof of former or current veteran status to adopt a pet at the reduced fee.
