The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce celebrated its members and a year of progress Wednesday evening.

The 101st annual meeting was held at Hulman Center. With 700 people in attendance, this is the biggest event of the year for the Chamber.

Officials hope that as business in Terre Haute grows stronger, more industry will move into the city, and will help improve the quality of life for everyone, David Haynes, President of Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, says "My vision for Terre Haute, I think, is similar to a lot of vision and that is we were built on high ground. Let's stay there and get higher. We can do it. Our universities are very supportive, our businesses are successful."

Haynes has only held the position for a short time, and he says he plans to get to know all of the chamber members and their needs.
