Mayor Duke Bennett talked to Tom on Live at Five about efforts by Indiana cities, including Terre Haute, to stop Indiana Governor Mike Pence from repealing the state's business inventory property tax. The tax is a major supplier of funding for Indiana's cities and towns. If it passes, cities like Terre Haute would suffer severe shortfalls in income that would likely mean cuts in personnel and service.
The mayor also commented on downtown construction of a new ISU housing development and a brief comment on a nature trail along with Wabash River.
