Cranking Up the Fun

TERRE HAUTE, IN - Luckily no emergencies today at the 14th and Chestnut Community Center, but that didn't stop the Terre Haute Fire Department and police from stopping by.

Even dosing children with the fire hose, all in good fun for the center's annual carnival event.

It's a part of the summer program that runs every week day for children to find some safe structure.

"It gives them a chance to play and do things that are safe and two when they go back to school with all of the events we have in the summer, they've got a lot to talk about and it's good for them," Pastor Bill Felts said.

Today's carnival included a giant water slide, face painting, ring toss and arts and craft games.
