Carlisle Woman Arrested After Theft Investigation

Sullivan County, IN - A Carlisle woman is behind bars after the alleged theft of nearly $35,000 from an elderly Sullivan County resident.

According to Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom, Louis McCammon, 51, of Carlisle allegedly took money from the elderly resident for the past seven years. Investigators traced theft and fraudulent checks written by McCammon in both Sullivan and Greene counties.

Sullivan County Sheriff Detective Ron Elliott wrapped up the two-month long investigation today.
McCammon was charged in Sullivan County with 2 counts of Felony Theft and 2 counts of Misdemeanor Theft.

Sullivan County investigators also worked closely with the Greene County Prosecutor, charging McCammon in that county with 4 counts of Felony Fraud and 4 counts of Misdemeanor Theft.

McCammon was secured in the Sullivan County Jail on a $32,000 bond with 10%.
