(Hometown Hero open)  Our latest Hometown Hero is Sergeant First Class Billy Pitts.  Sgt. Pitts joined the Army when he was 17 because of the influence of his Uncle Aaron.
Much has happened since his basic training 11 years ago.  Sgt. Pitts has served in Iraq clearing the way for troopos by destroying deadly IED's. He was injured there but is serving now at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He has received numerous decorations and is the proud father of twin girls Kailyn and Kira and a son, Cain.
Sgt. Pitts has just been nominated for the prestigious Bronze Order of the De Fleury Medal, that's why he is an excellent example of being our Hometown Hero.
