Our latest Hometown Hero is Leslie Heshelman.  Leslie joined the National Guard while in college and recently retired after 22 years of service.  That included a tour at Camp Victory in Iraq.  She served in several assignments there.
Once back home in Daviess County, Leslie continues her service to her country and community.  She is the first woman ever to be Commander of VFW Post 3321 where she's also served as Service Officer and Chaplain.
Leslie gives back to her community as a founding member of a group dedicated to promoting youth and community development.  She teaches at her church and has been a junior high volleyball coach at North Daviess.
She's the proud mother to her stepson Garrett, her son Lane and 9 month old Samantha Grace.
Oh, by the way, she is also the proud wife of Mike Heshelman, a former Hometown Hero himself.  Leslie Heshelman, our latest Hometown Hero.
