3/11/2014 9:45:37 PMIndiana State Police pulled over Gregory Phillips in Vincennes for failing to use a turn signal. During the traffic stop, police discovered the vehicle was stolen in 2012. Phillips is in the Knox County Jail facing a charge of theft.
3/11/2014 9:42:45 PMIndiana State Police are investigating bookkeeping records at the Terre Haute International Airport. In February, airport officials spotted something in the records that may not be legal. A forensic accountant is doing an audit of the past two years.
3/11/2014 9:04:25 PMThe Vigo County Council Tuesday night allotted $900,000 for road repairs. Officials say the harsh winter took a toll on the 800 miles of pavement throughout the county. It costs about $80,000 to repair just one mile of roadway.
3/11/2014 8:56:00 PMThe Vigo County Council approved a technology upgrade for the 911 operations and sheriff's deputies' computer systems. Dispatchers will be able to receive, texts, pictures and videos. Deputies can run a person's license against a nationwide database of warrants and wanted files.

The study broke Indiana into 17 regions, and 12 of them are below the national average. Experts say the state just needs a stronger push - things like getting kids involved, strong community support, education opportunities and stable family structure.

3/11/2014 3:48:16 PMThe City of Terre Haute is on the verge of a million-dollar facelift. It'll help pay for a "streetscape" project on Third Street, from Poplar to Cherry. From painting to planting and paving, it'll change the way Downtown Terre Haute looks. Beside the money from state, the improvements will be paid for with federal dollars and the city's Economic Development Income Tax. Most of the work could be finished later this year.
3/11/2014 3:45:04 PMIndiana State Police arrested David Keith Rudisel, 31, and Ashlee Marie Melvin, 30, both of Terre Haute, Monday night. They were pulled over for speeding, and the trooper found the driver Rudisel didn't have a valid license and passenger Melvin was wanted on a warrant. A K-9 sniffed out drugs in the car.

Vigo County school superintendent Danny Tanoos says he believes it would be dangerous to let just anyone have a gun on school property, but understands that there are people who keep them in their cars and don't mean any harm.
