12/8/2013 9:22:23 PMThe Clark County Compassionate Friends took part in the Worldwide Candle Lighting Sunday evening. Parents could come a light a candle for their children that have passed away. The event started in New Zealand, and a candle was lit in each time zone for one hour...keeping the flame throughout the entire day.
12/8/2013 9:20:03 PMThe Union Christian Church in Terre Haute held the 21st annual outdoor nativity. Members of the congregation played the roles of Mary, Joseph and the Three Wise Men. Each show was 20 minutes long, and keeping with the nativity theme, guests could watch the show while sitting on bales of hay.
12/8/2013 8:46:39 PMArrested was 42-year-old Mario Arturo Lucas Ramos. According to police, he committed felony battery and DUI, and was deported from the U.S., and he's said to have then re-entered the country illegally. Ramos is held at the Putnam County Jail without bond on a Homeland Security detention and removal order.
12/8/2013 5:07:00 PMSunday, December 8 is a somber anniversary in Sullivan County. It's been one year since 85-year-old Lowell Badger was found shot to death in his rural home after a robbery. Despite hundreds of tips.. and a sizable reward, police still haven't made an arrest - but they aren't giving up hope that they will catch the killer. You can make a tip anonymously to Indiana State Police. That number is (765) 653 -4114. There's a $38,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
12/8/2013 5:02:00 PMLogan D. Evans is being charged with murder. He's accused of shooting Devin Burris to death last week. A tip led Washington Police to Evans' location, and he was taken into custody without incident.

12/7/2013 8:33:07 PMThe 24th annual Santa Train rolled into the Valley on Sunday, thrilling hundreds of people both young and old. Many braved the slick roads to see Santa and Mrs. Claus, and even Dr. Seuss' the Grinch posing was for pictures, along with some Disney favorites.The train also hands out coats, gloves, and toys for those in need.
12/7/2013 8:28:54 PMPeople could tour each cabin and see how many lived in the Valley during the pioneer days. Volunteers had demonstrations, and lots of hot cider and Christmas music were on hand. Terre Haute South's marching band also played Christmas carols outside the cabins. Any money raised goes toward putting on other Fowler Park events.

12/7/2013 5:00:00 PMAnthony Thigpin Jr., 18, is being charged with aggravated battery. Police say they were called to the Statesman Inn in Terre Haute around 9 a.m. That's where they found Randal Norton Jr., 21, with stab wounds in his back and stomach.

12/6/2013 9:35:24 PMTerre Haute Police say they responded to a battery Friday afternoon at a home on Locust Street. Police found a man they say was battered by 36-year-old Paul Lovell. Lovell was taken to the Vigo County Jail on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery.
