  • About PCH/FMC

We are proud to be a small community hospital. No, we are not a large metropolitan trauma center; however, we do save lives and stabilize patients in emergency situations. At PCH/FMC we offer some of the latest medical technology and state-of-the-art equipment, yet we are small enough to call our patients neighbors, friends, or family. You can count on us to provide a growing number of services. At PCH/FMC, we offer excellence in healthcare with the personal touch.

We take pride in our rich history and our ongoing commitment to community and family health. From our training of nurses (1910-1954) and their focus on “The Patient First,” to the opening of the “old” hospital (1916), to the dedication of the “new” hospital (1969), to our present progressive spirit, we have continued to be your Valley Experts in Family Health.

    Summer Safety

Many people thoroughly enjoy the “dog days” of summer—even though more people are likely to be injured and pay visits to emergency rooms during the summer than during the rest of the year.

The Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center E.R. is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to handle emergencies that may arise during you and your family’s summer fun.

Noise: How much is too much?

Few people are aware of the numerous every-day activities that project noise at unsafe decibels. Movie theaters, sporting events, and even some child toys all generate dangerous levels of noise.

Are you getting all your ZZZs?

Sleep is vital. We spend one-third of our lives asleep allowing the body to repair muscles, release hormones, and rejuvenate our body and mind. Not getting the necessary amounts of sleep can jeopardize normal body function.

Summer Safety Should be Priority for Children, Adults
By the time July rolls around, there’s little doubt that summer has arrived. Although some people complain about the heat, many others truly enjoy the “dog days” of summer. It is a fact, though, that more people are likely to be injured and pay visits to emergency rooms during the summer than during the rest of the year. A key ingredient to enjoying summer is making safety a priority.

Noise: How much is too much?
Many people do not recognize the abbreviation dBA. This fact is a problem in that our lack of awareness of dBAs, or decibels, and our lack of understanding of what they mean to our ability to hear contribute to serious health-related problems.

Are you getting all your ZZZs?
One of the factors that contributes significantly to how well people function each day, both at work and at play, is the amount of sleep that they get.
