WTWO-TV and 12 animal shelters in the Wabash Valley will host Clear the Shelters on Saturday, August 19.  This is the first time that WTWO-TV hosts the popular nationwide pet adoption campaign. On this day, participating animal shelters will offer low cost or waived adoption fees to help families find and adopt a new pet.

WHAT: WTWO and 12 animal shelters in the Wabash Valley will host Clear the Shelters, 

WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 19 (See list of local shelters & times below.) 

WHERE:  Pet Supplies Plus in Terre Haute and participating animal shelters in the Wabash Valley.  Stop by Pet Supplies Plus to get a free dog wash provided by Backyard Leisure.

ADOPTION:  A real-time pet “Adoption Tracker” – posted her, on MyWabashValley.com and will record the total number of pets that are adopted across all participating shelters.

SOCIAL: Use the hashtags #ClearTheShelters and #LoveMyPet to follow the effort on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.Clear the Shelters-themed Snapchat filters will be activated on August 19.

August 19th 12-4pm is offering cats at a $40 adoption fee at Pet Supplies Plus.  Edgar County Humane Association is located in Paris IL.  They are a volunteer group dedicated to the rescue, rehome and spay/neuter of dogs and cats. They were founded in 2001 They are not a shelterand depend on fosters and volunteers. Their only income is from adoption fees and fundraisers.
