Functional Role:

The basic function of the Retail Sales Representative is to provide the sales contract with customers and to service so that the established sales goals and growth objectives of the company are met.

Other basic functions include:

• Current product and technology knowledge.

• Service customer's needs and provide prompt and quality service.

• Provide phone and sales desk support as needed.

• Increase sales and maximize company profits.

Requirements:                 Education—High school or equivalent education.

Experience—a minimum of one-year in high-ticket retail sales, preferably in the retail. Appliance, furniture, or carpet industries.

Skill, Knowledge and Abilities—the use of analytical and observational skills, which demonstrate and ability to sell the company's products and services to retail customers. Working knowledge of computer applications for inventory and stock status. Excellent people skills and the ability to communicate well with customers and employees.

Physical—requirements are being able to stand, sit, and walking for lengths of time. Carrying items, use of hands, arms, vision, and voice. Also the ability to lift and carry in excess of 501bs.

Mental—requires analytical and statistical knowledge using general business mathematical skills. Language ability includes reading, writing, spelling, and the ability to communicate clearly on technical and business topics in the English language.

The working conditions—will be primarily indoors in a climate-controlled office environment. Some of the work will take place in the warehouse and other storage areas. The warehouse and other storage areas are subject to seasonal temperature changes and the environment and can be extremely hot or cold.

Reporting:          The Retail Sales Representative reports to the Sales Manager of the company.

Authority and Responsibility:

The Retail Sales Representative of Carpet One of Terre Haute is delegated sufficient authority by the President to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the position to successfully conduct, implement and administer all Sales related activities assigned within the guidelines established and agreed to by the President. In this regard, the position has the authority to negotiate the sale of Company product within pricing methodologies established and to conduct necessary business with customers.

The Retail Sales Representative of Carpet One of Terre Haute is accountable directly to the Sales Manager for the accomplishment of all assigned and agreed to goals and the ethical and prudent operation of the company.
